Contact Your County Council

Dear Council Members,

Speeding near our Baltimore County schools remains a major problem for our communities. While the 15 speed cameras permitted in school zones have been a good start in slowing down some drivers, we have more than 170 public schools in our County and dozens more private schools. Limiting speed cameras to only a handful of areas is simply not doing enough to protect our children.

I want to praise Councilman Quirk for his leadership in proposing to lift the County's cap on the number of speed cameras permitted in school zones. I urge the other members of the Council to support this important legislation to improve safety around our schools.

Our County needs you to enact this legislation quickly and get more speed cameras in operation as soon as possible. Spring is coming, and more children will soon be walking to school and playing outdoors in our neighborhoods. Let's not delay this important effort to slow down drivers near our schools.

Sincerely,
